Welcome and thanks for visiting. This is the space where I’m supposed to explain a little about who I am and why such a blog as mine exists.
The answers to those questions are works in progress.
Nevertheless, I will share a few of the essentials, elements of my life—sights, sounds, experiences, lessons, and relationships—of which you may hear more should you choose to follow along with this journey …
I am a student of the Word of God. I write. I take photographs of things (and people). I have two parents, two older brothers, two sisters-in-law, two nephews, two nieces, two green eyes, two pairs of Chuck Taylors (and counting) and a host of other things. I like maps, music and driving on back roads. I love my family dearly. I grew up in the Northwest, but my roots are nowhere if not found in the Lord. As such, I am currently on an unlikely adventure in a small town in central Florida. The church body to which I belong has thoroughly captivated me and I have the privilege of being part of our youth ministry, working with a phenomenal group of young ladies. I am a deep processor, so if you pause long enough you will find I have no shortage of well-mulled thoughts. Yet while I fill nearly a journal a year with these thoughts, I think I must be among the last of my generation to join this blogging revolution. I suppose this is due, in part, to the fact that I cannot imagine what value there is in me adding one more opinion to this already information-saturated world. But in the past months a realization has begun to dawn, so here I am, joining the masses, setting up a blog. The reason is simple:
This really isn’t about me.
I am but one thread in the tapestry God is weaving. Yet this thread has eyes, ears, a mind, a heart, a voice and a responsibility to testify of my Lord Jesus. If, at the end of the day, I leave you only with me, I have failed, and by all means, stop wasting your time with this blog. If however, as is my hope, my words speak ultimately of God’s grand Love Story played out in the details of my fleeting life, then I will rest sweetly in the embrace of a purpose accomplished.

Erin,
I’m proud of you! Thanks for the reminder that “this really isn’t about me.” I suspect there’s a lesson in that for me as well. Just keep following the Lord’s leading and we will enjoy your journey through your words.
